EXCLUSIVE: The day after Christmas dishes up a tasty Froyo treat for the Samsung Epic 4G

Recently, the DK28 build of Froyo for the handset managed to leak and brought hope that an official update was soon coming. However, an anonymous tipster of ours was able to shed some light on the highly anticipated update that's sure to get Samsung Epic 4G owners excited after Christmas.
Based on the screen shot of an internal memo, it appears that the DL11 build of Froyo will slowly begin to roll out as an over-the-air process starting on December 26th – with the hopes of it hitting all handsets within 4 days of its initial launch. Naturally, your best bet is to simply wait for that notification to finally hit your handset.

Once it does, you can expect the following new enhancements:
- Upgrade of the OS from Eclair to Froyo (2.2.1)
- Ability to install applications to the external memory
- Improved Bluetooth device support
- Bluetooth Voice Dialing
- Flash Player 10.1
- GPS Enhancements

See this is what I hate about Android bitches, oh theres a new gingerbread update an were just now getting froyo, need I remind you the 2.3code was release about 5days ago stop your bitching an just be happy that your on the list to get a damn update, look at all of the cliq xt users there still on 1.6 cliq is on 2.1, eris and heros are all on 2.1 damn just stop being a baby is all i'm saying, and if you dont like it buy a damn iPhone shit

we were promised froyo WHEN THE EPIC LAUNCED and SEVERAL other phones have gotten the update first. Why in the hell should I BE HAPPY Im getting it when it was one of the reasons I bought the Phone.....DAMN FOOL!

sweet christmas present. i bet most of these chumps don't even have the phone. the roms on xda is passing the time nicely. the battery life is uber nice for these modified roms. im unsure whether its worth using standard google roms when the modified ones are so sweet.

Looks like it's already the end of the line for the Galaxy S devices. Of course, from what I've learned, Samsung is almost always 4-8 months behind the times. Not to mention that when the Nexus S and Android 2.3 was announced, Samsung basically said that they need to test 2.3 to see if it is compatible with the Galaxy S devices even though the Nexus S is basically a Galaxy S running Vanilla Android 2.3.
