Sony Xperia Z5+ tipped for March with 5.7-inch QHD screen, SD-820 and 4GB RAM?
We've been hearing a lot of speculation about Sony recently, with talk about a new line of high-end phones. This rumor had the high-priced Sony Xperia S60 and Sony Xperia S70, each with 32GB of native storage, making the scene in August. In addition, a User Agent Profile recently surfaced for the Sony Xperia Z5 and Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. While both phones will apparently be equipped with the Snapdragon 810 chipset, the Xperia Z5 will have a 1080p resolution screen, while the Z5 Compact will sport a 720p display. The two models are rumored to hit the market next quarter.

Today, tipster Leaksfly posted a new rumor about a phone called the Sony Xperia Z5+. According to the source, the phone will come with a bezel-less 5.7-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 515ppi. Driving the phone will be the Snapdragon 820 SoC, which might explain why this model is not expected to be available until next March.

The rest of the rumored specs include 4GB of RAM inside, with 32GB of native storage. A 20.7MP camera is on back while an 8MP snapper graces the front of the device, ready to snap selfies and handle video chats. A fingerprint scanner is expected to be on board. We would imagine that the phone will carry an IP certification against dust and water.

With all due respect to Leaksfly, as usual we suggest taking this rumor with a grain of salt.

Don't worry. Sony will find a way to screw something up.

Yup. and now this is just sad from Sony releasing a so-called flagship every 4 months! Pretty soon we are going to have monthly flagships from Sony

There will be the regular Z5 and the Z5 compact, so there really is no reason to complain.

It will probably be the same Sony sensor that the new Motor X Style uses and it has already gotten second best place as a cameraphone behind the S6 according to Dxo mark.

Actually Z3+ has the second best camera if you check out the combined 'photo' score on DXO. Moto did better in video and came out ahead on 'combined' video & photo score. Of course, a better sensor is always welcome. But my point is Sony's IMX220 is still a top performer & with SW tweaks, it could get even better.

Dont bother, the sony hate is strong on this site. this is a sammy and appel fanboy convention almost on every post, either they are praising their fav brand or bashing another, like a kindergarden.

You probably used superior auto which sucks cause the resolution is 8mp. If you used manual and change the resolution to 20.7mp you will get far better quality

No need to take it with grain of salt, SD820 will be coming before March 2016 for sure, or else there won't be any new SOC for all flagships which will launch in MWC. And Sony's 6 month upgrade would be due somewhere around that time. It's a news if someone says SD 820 is coming this year.

The LG G Flex 3 is getting a March 2016 release, so it does seem like the 820 might not be ready this year. If it was why didn't Motorola or Sony wait for it? Moto opted for 808 for its September release Moto X style phone while Z5 is going for 810 again.

If LG G Flex is launching in March then don't expect a device even in CES 2016 with 820.

And the industry (excluding Samsung, Huawei and Apple) would have itself to blame for relying on one company alone for their SOC.

If Sony dumps the old grey IMX220 and keeps the rest of the specs, this phone is mine :).

Somehow Mid-range phones from Sony sounds much more interesting than their Flagship phones.

Maybe now is not a good time to be a SonyMobile customer, but i think it wasn't too bad because I could save my money to buy Sony RX10M2 and Sony Android powered 4K TV.

Don't worry SonyMobile i'll be back after you get your s**** together :)

2016 competition might be tight not like 2015..where sd 810 hv crippled most android OEMS leaving competition solely to Samsungs advantage. .if 820 doesn't experience issues.. ,brings ultra sonic fingerprint, wireless charging over metal ..then the only competing factor for Samsung is to bring 4k display on board, a blazing fast Sip (cpu).. greater than great design , excellent camera ..for it to convince loyal consumers as other Oems will almost produce equal features. .

I think you'll also get 4K display from other OEMs because JDI, Sharp & AUO are also ready to produce 4K display for smartphone or tablet.

*Sigh*....as a sony fan I'm not sure how to feel about them anymore. This constant 6 month cycle is by far the stupidest idea ever. The z3+ should be the last phone they make this year and next year launch the Z5 next year with the 820 and IMX230.

If this is true I will buy it to replace my now retired Xperia Z Ultra. Until it is here my BlackBerry Passport will be fine. If I get desperate for Android I will fire up my Nexus 6.

All this means is that there is a lot of great phones coming between now and early next year. Many choices for us consumers. Sony's biggest problem was the same as blackberry and Nokia. LEADERSHIP not connecting with what is working. It has been clear fro several years that the Iphone was top dog in sales. But they refused to do what Samsung did, which is just come out with their own true answer to the iphone. It took all these years for everyone to finally come out with great looking phones and Apple did it years earlier. I'm not an apple fan but it is what it is. They had more forward thinking leadership. Alot of these companies have too many captains and one ship. This is common thing. But by the time they start to get it right, it is always too late.
