Sony Ericsson PlayStation phone stars in videos with Android 2.3
Now, two very clear videos of the handset have appeared and not only can we easily see the control panel, we can also see the display which reveals that the handset is running on Android 2.3. There is also a PlayStation icon on the screen that apparently leads to a library of games. With a ton of PlayStation owners throughout the globe possible buyers of a PlayStation Phone, this model could very well be Sony Ericsson's breakthrough handset, which apparently will be named the Sony Ericsson Zeus Z1.

I'm relieved to see shoulder buttons. The thing looks nice. Though I'm left to wonder where arethe rumored UI enhancements in 2.3? Also where is the analog slider? If a psp go can have it why not a phone with an identical form factor? I also think the screen shoulda been 4.3 but that's neither here nor there. I also understand that this is a prototype so the slider can still appear. I'm also left wondering if the final make of this will be a playstation Phone-pspgo-phone or whatever necause there are no playstation logos. Not on the screen or the casing. Perhaps it will just be the Zeus Z1 after all. Maybe throw a "with playstation" on the back.

I don't want to say the 2.3 could be fake but people can change that and have done so many times, plus according to some 2.3 "leaks" the default launcher has a new face....
about the custom UI if this is 2.3 maybe there is a new way for companies to customize their phones by adding some sort of package or an application that customizes everything, Example SPB mobile shell 5, maybe they came out with some great way to add customization with APK files... but will know when we see 2.3

I wonder if it will run the same games that the PSP Go does. I also think that it should come with support for full HSPA+ (21Mbps+) or some sort of 4G because the games can be quite a large file to download.

so Android 2.3 would be playing PSP games.. this should be the death to iPhone

It definitely will NOT be the death of the iPhone, as I'm sure majority of people would want to separate this kind of gaming from their phone. I actually believe it won't effect the sales of the iPhone at all. This kind of phone will only attract a small group of people, like people reading these articles.
I think you might have a point that could be expanded though. The fact that it is on Android 2.3, I'm sure something like this can be exported to other phones, even tablets. It could get interesting. What I want to know is official information from Sony Ericsson and how they plan to fight piracy with an operating system that is so open to editing. We see there other game systems and how many updates they get, but are we going to have to expect to update our phones with so many firmware updates?
