Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 gets a homebrew Metro UI theme
Boy those coding experts over at the XDA Developers forum sure deserve a tap on the back for all the cool things they make our smartphones and tablets do even if they are not supposed to. One of the latest creations that was brought to life by the community is a theme that closely resembles the Metro UI interface. However, it is actually meant to run on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

But don't think that this Metro UI theme is just a set of Metro-fied icons. It comes with meticulously crafted graphics that customize not only your home screens, but your status bar as well. Also, it comes with a whole set of matching widgets, and their number will likely keep on growing.

You can get this Metro UI theme on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 by using ClockworkMod recovery, but be aware that it might not be free of bugs as it is still at its beta stage. For a sneak preview, check out the video below showing off the custom UI in action.

There's always a small minority who likes it, but what to keep the functionality of what OS they're using now. Like iOS themes for Android too, who in the right mind would want their phone functions taken away? But nevertheless, there are still people who want that and at least the option is there for them.

Android is about freedom and choices, the option is there to have a metro UI, nothing with that. Its makes android the best OS.

Im currently running Launcher 7 on My Bionic and Ive had an Android phone since the G1 first came out. I really dig the Metro UI better than any Android UI out there. ( I have tried alot) It is cleaner and faster and because its Android I can do things with it Windows Phones can not. I would love to see how this theme applies to a Tablet.

Android is just a plain copycat of pretty much all the OS's out there..
