Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 visits GFX Benchmark site

Earlier this year, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 was launched in India. Amazingly enough, it is just about 10 months later, and we are already talking about the Samsung Galaxy Grand 3. The SM-G7200, as the phone likes to be called by friends and family, recently had the chance to visit the GFX Benchmark site. And as usual when a new phone visits such a web page, someone starts squealing. Before you know it, we have some juicy rumored specs, hot off the press.

First, it appears that the Galaxy Grand 3 will feature a larger 5.5 inch screen, with resolution of 720 x 1280. That tops the 5.2 inch glass employed on the Galaxy Grand 2. Driving Miss Daisy is a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 CPU, with 1.5GB of RAM on board. The Adreno 306 GPU will crunch the graphics.

One of the biggest improvements with the new model, is with the cameras on the phone. The Galaxy Grand 2 offered an 8MP snapper on back, and a 1.9MP camera up front. To placate those professional selfie shooters out there, the front-facing camera on the Galaxy Grand 3 is now 5MP, with a 12/13MP camera on back. Android 4.4.4 should be pre-installed on the handset.

We expect to see the Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 launch in India, anytime before the end of this year.

Thanks for the tip!

PA should take proofreading and editorial more seriously. I see typos more frequently now.

Better all round package. I hope they get the pricing right. Grand 2 costs as much as Htc Desire 816 here

It costs much lesser than 816. Check in flipkart otherwise. I have extensively used Grand 2 and its a wonderful device sans the Amoled display. Its adjustive sound feature like the S5 is great. Also does not lag and battery backup is pretty good for the size.

where I live it costs 270$ with a warranty from Samsung and bought directly from Samsung, if it's black market it costs 235$ which is much much less than a D816 ..

OnePlus One and MI 4 will destroy it. Unless Samsung launches it in the price bracket of Rs. 13000-15000. Otherwise, there is absolutely no way this thing is going to sell. Also, Redmi Note will be launched for Rs. 9000 or so..

well, yes, in cheap markets ... here you'd rather buy an entry level Samsung rather than a flagship china-copies-apple phone .. people would simply think you're a cheapo ..

Meh, had you told me this 3 months I'd have agreed, but Mi3 and Mi4 are only impressive on paper, they have serious build quality and display issues, and the worst thing is you can't get a replacement due to the limited availability. Also Xiaomi doesn't sell phones in every market, I'd trust Samsung over Chinese OEMs anyday, they still give a better experience.
And don't get me started on TrollPlus troll.

Last year's Grand 2 was a impressive package and the pricing was a winner too. The Grand 3 seems like a great one too, with 64bit chipset and 12mp camera-the price will decide its fate.

Prob is I'm of the opinion that this is precisely the thing that Samsung need to kill off, to lift A series up and get leaner and meaner. This Grand 3 doesn't seem like it's gonna be that much cheaper than A5 no? In fact oddly enough it's gonna be .5" larger screened and yet .5GB lesser RAM than the A5? I don't think careful shoppers can take this seriously if that's the case.

Specs look really nice. Loving the camera upgrades. Hopefully the Grand 3 will come with the new design language from Samsung.
