Retina scanners do exist. Usually using low-powered IR laser reflection.
Obviously that's not what Samsung's *iris* scanner does though :p

I don't see why the unsubstantiated rant. You have a choice. You don't want it, then don't buy. Innovation is what it's all about. If you do not see the innovation in the S7, go buy whatever phone you think is worth your $450.

You've been saying for 9 months that you're going to buy an LG or something else other than Samsung. Your random, long-term threats to take away $450 ($160 in profits) hasn't seemed to have deterred Samsung. Apple and Samsung flagships aren't for the broke. The Motorola G or Galaxy A3 might be more in your range. See, no need to complain to Samsung. Or, you can just ask Flo if you can borrow her Name Your Price tool and just tell these corporations what you want to pay. That's what I do. I pay 3 cents per gallon of gas because that's the price I like.

A TELEPHONE is indeed everyday tech. It shouldn't cost more than what an S5 costed before.

Anyway, didn't Android have face-unlock? Why is this so much better? Using ridiculous tech for just one thing like that heart rate scanner. I've asked on some forums if that scanner can't be used for something else. Like helping the camera focussing (infrared) or red-eye reduction. But I got no reply ever. This is the same.

Do you unlock your car with your eyes? How about where you live? To unlock you pc, turn on TV or cable?

So how is it a common everyday tech.

Last I checked, on my government agencies have iris scanners. Remember they once we're the only ones with fingerprint readers.

Samsung is bring something we've never had.

Anyway back to topic. VzW usually sells the South at the lowest cost at 599 brand new. Ass I ming it could go up $100, I would say it needs more than just an iris scanner. How about making internal storage 64 and 128 only. 20MP camera on the rear and 8 on the front. Oh and drop on the Exyynos 8890 and it may be ok.

The new S looks like it's not going to look hood. May be bad timing to raise the price if the phone is ugly or has issues.

But at East you will actually get something when you pay extra money. Not like some Oems. Charge you money for. Or higher more than size.

Apple hikes the price every year. Maybe you are accustomed to buying phones on contract. Phones are getting expensive and high end phones cost more than 800$ now, which is higher than last year.

It will still cost less than even the 6s, let alone iPhone 7 which will probably cost 1000$ for 16 GB.

You ever heard of paying for a phone even if it costs more just because you like the phone or brand?

Apple fans don't rught? Galaxy phones are full of features and many people don't use all of rhem, so does that mean you shouldn't buy it?

At least you get something for the increase in costs.
Now to be fair, the Note does costs $100 more than the S, but you more than just size. You get special hardware for writing and a pen. You get $200 In free software and more. What does the iPhone 6S Plus offer over the 6S? Just higher resolution and size.

When you really price out an iPhone, Xperia Z or some other flagship vs the Galaxy S, none even comes close to what it offers.

The fact the South with all its extras is just as fast as other options or faster is amazing.

But Samsung has made me realize the maximum I will ever pay for a phone. After paying $939 for the 128 S6 Edge, I said never again.

My ceiling is no more than 799 retail and it must pack a punch.

If the price is going up, it needs more than just another biometric sensor.

The 6S Plus also offers far superior battery life and a longer battery lifespan overall due to less recharging. That's how lithium batteries work, and I work in the battery industry so I know.

My friends 6S Plus only has to be charged every other day. There is great value in a battery that lasts twice as long inside a Unibody device.

Well sure compare to the 6S. But it doesn't even last longer than three Note 5 and look how much the Note5 has in hardware in comparison.

I charge my Note also every other day. I get about quite a bit of time. I use my screen on average a total of 3 hours per day and I get 15-20 of usage between charges.

No, it doesn't. The simple fact is that iPhones have better standby battery life, flagship Android phones have better use time. So, if your actually use your phone, the Note 5 will outlast the 6s+. If you just keep it in your pocket, you're golden with the iPhone.

Why do you worry about selling prices? Every android smartphone will lose value drastically after launch. If you think the device is too expensive at launch day, wait for 3 to 6 months and you get for 40% less.

TMOBILE gave me about $680 for my S6 Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S and Notebhold equal or better resale value. Just go one ebay. A refurbished S5 costs more to buy vs the iPhone released the same year.

I say it on my eBay link for discounts on refurbs.

Exactly, all you have to do is wait four months and prices will bottom. Also note, some Chinese company will clone the tech, and you be able to buy it for $299. Besides, who wants to be a beta tester @ $700.

I replaced my iPhone 5 for a Galaxy S6 dual sim last April cause I don't like to carry two phones. I've been using iPhones for a long time but what shifted me to a Samsung phone is the screen qhd. Much clearer and much bigger than the retina iPhones.

well if you're okay with that something that you get with the extra cost being no more than a waste of money then hey, more power to ya.

hell, i'd pay more for a well built Samsung that has less of that something like a Galaxy S7 GPE because this extra, useless stuff Samsung piles on creates a bloated down and more importantly a very inconsistent experience. once your carrier gets done with your Samsung you've essentially got three different companies that are offering a bunch of the same stuff all vying for your attention on your own phone. i am much happier paying less for a Nexus that only provides the best, essential software from a single company for a more consistent experience and then if i want more i can get it from the Play Store.

Really? Consider this. The Galaxy S5 was 5 9 on VZW. New canetas, IP67 rated, best display in its class, more ram, stripped away useless S54 features bigger battery and more. The s6 comes all metal, better cameras, and even better display, more ram, new TouchWiz and more and the price remained the same.

What new feature did the iPhone Plus models get over the regular. Only bigger size and 1080p and OIS.

All the S6 models share all the same features and you pay more on your friends larger size and a fancier design.

It costs samsung only 40 more to make the Edge model over the based S6. It costs Apple eveness to make the Plus model over the base.

I've only complain about Samsung lrivws.on the Edge models as being high. I still bought them. I can but them and still complaon, can't i?

At least I don't have my head all.ups Samsung button like any have up their favor OEM
