Nokia's new "Time to #switch" Lumia video takes a jab at the black and white iPhone 5

Nokia's new
Nokia is taking a page from Samsung's book, and released a video directly aimed at the Apple iPhone 5, reminding in a more subtle way than the "barista" ads that consumers have more choice elsewhere.

That elsewhere is, of course, the Lumia handsets slated for release when Microsofts preps Windows Phone 8, and their colorful bods in particular. Both the Lumia 920 and the midrange Lumia 820 are coming wrapped up in jolly shells, or buttoned down colors, depending on what your needs and desires are.

Most of you said they like the Windows Phone 8's multiple color scheme in our poll results, so it is definitely something to emphasize before the competition.

That is why Nokia is taking aim at the "monochromatic" world of the iPhone, which is only available in black and white. Of course, you can paint it any color you want, or put a case on it afterwards, but these cost additionally. Have a look at Nokia's Apple jab below and tell us what you think.

Nokia's new color scheme with the wp8 lumia is really something we haven't seen before in a smartphone and the new handsets are an eye candy compared to the old black and white trend of the iPhone

i have a feeling that if this WP Color craze goes boom, iPhone will join in as well next generation and they'll reason that they had it on the iPods long ago.

just like with the Panorama, Notif Bar, Siri and all.

if apple tries to say they did colors first than Sanyo needs to come back in the picture and show apple what's up. does anyone remember sanyo 8100, 8200, 8300, and even 8400?

Nokia may release in any colour but black & white will always remain most popular........

I didn't expect Nokia would fall on this pathetic level as Samsung did, but hey, these are difficult times, right? No.

They too don't understand the basic concept of marketing. Even the most amateur marketing "experts" know that anti-commercial is actually commercial.

So this is also more a commercial for iPhone, showing its social power, than it is a commercial for Nokia, that showes how small it is and tries to be like the Big Brother.

I disagree. The Samsung and Nokia ads show how non-conformity and self-independence is good and how shallow and mindless the fruit company's product-buyers are.
I am yet again reminded of the Futurama episode "Attack of the Killer App".

Awful..........i still prefer iphone 5 cuz it has the best CPU nd most no of apps nd games like Asphlat 7 heat to take full advantage of the GPU.......Lumia has none...out dated processor...s4 pro is new......no apps....
BTW will nokia stop producing these stupid ADs nd launch the device first..atleast make it up fr pre-order..........
ill get note 2...its way better than this thing...

It will be really interesting to see how well the 920 does when it is eventually launched. There has been a lot of hype and I'm still just about hooked on getting one.

The trouble is, as some people have stated on here, it's not available yet, and when it is available there are rumoured to be all kinds of exclusivity deals being done across Europe and the price looks like it might be a bit high.

Realise that WP8 hasn't been officially launched yet, but Nokia are playing a dangerous game in my opinion. By the time the phone is maybe available on my carrier, there will be any number of awesome new Android phones available, the new Blackberry 10 handsets, more WP8 handsets and Apple might have even got their act together on IP5.

920 does currently have some fantastic stand out features but the importance of these will diminish as time moves on. HTC have the same constraints as Nokia in terms of WP8 launch, but that hasn't stopped them announcing carriers and prices.

C'mon Nokia...get your fingers out of your bottoms and let's see what your plans are.

Very cool, but it was missing one thing that would have made a bigger impact, all the drones with their heads down should have been wearing white earpods.

Yeah, with them being taken out as it gets closer to the front of the line for discomfort and dissatisfaction

I thought Samsungs commercials were funnier... I cant speak of the effectiveness yet. All I know is Nokia has made an amazing product and they should market the crap out of it (or market it while poking fun at kicking the crap out of inferior iProducts).

And I say that without trying to sound so strong.
