Nokia N1 tops the Apple iPad mini 3 and others on AnTuTu (UPDATE: N1 wins on GFX, too)
Now that the Android powered Nokia N1 has been officially introduced in China, how does it compare to the competition? According to a couple of tests run on the AnTuTu Benchmark site, the just introduced slate outscores the Apple iPad mini 3 and a wide variety of other slates as well. When it comes to CPU efficiency, the N1 scored 45,121 compared to the 28,446 scored by the latest version of Apple's 7.9-inch tablet.

Among other Android tablets, a Samsung branded model scored the highest with a tally of 15,899. If you're curious about the silicon under the N1's hood, it is a 64-bit quad-core 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580. The image processing efficiency test showed the N1 posting a score of 12,623. This time, the iPad mini 3 was pretty close with a score of 10,102. The Samsung slate tested had a score of 3190.

The Nokia N1 is powered by Android 5.0. This is not a forked version of the OS, so you will have access to Google Services and apps like YouTube and Google Maps. Priced at the equivalent of $257 USD, the AnTuTu benchmark tests suggest that the Nokia N1 gives you plenty of bang for the buck.

Thanks for the tip!

UPDATE: The Nokia N1 beatdown of the Apple iPad mini 3 also occurred on the GFX Benchmark site. Running three tests (Manhattan, T-Rex and 1080p T-Rex offscreen), the Nokia N1 beat the Apple iPad mini 3, although the margins of victory on each test was pretty slim.
