The 41-megapixel Nokia 808 PureView is probably the one phone you didn’t forget about back from MWC 2012, and now it’s up for pre-order in Europe for a retail price of nearly $785 (599 euro). We’ve seen the 808 PureView hit various European branches of Nokia for the same price and it’s expected to arrive in May.
Except for the hard-to-forget 41-megapixel camera, the 808 PureView also runs on Symbian. It’s a way for Nokia to bring its camera magic quicker to market, but also a recognition of the loyal Nokia Symbian followers. Luckily, the same PureView imaging technology will eventually make its way to Nokia's main Windows Phone platform later on.
The handset features a 4-inch nHD ClearBlack AMOLED display, packs 16 gigs of internal memory and sports pentaband HSDPA. Along with the top-notch imaging quality, it also supports Dolby Digitial Plus for 5.1 surround sound.
