Assembled iPhone 6 appears on video, reviewing every nook and cranny

Assembled iPhone 6 appears on video, reviewing every nook and cranny
After months of leaked dummies, half chassis and frontal screen halves, the alleged iPhone 6 has finally been assembled, and its inner (and outer) workings displayed on video. Not only that, but the authors explore every nook and cranny of the claimed 4.7" iPhone 6 - they've confirmed some sort of aluminum alloy for the sealed unibody, an A8 processor inside, as well as an NFC chip at last.

The rumored sapphire screen, however, is a no-go, according to the sources, though we are not really sure how exactly they were able to conclude that from a simple physical examination. The camera sensor has been improved, they say, although it's not exactly clear of they mean a higher resolution, but the sacrifice that had to be made is that it will be protruding about a millimeter or so from the back, as the iPhone 6 has become much thinner, compared to its predecessor. Here's the full English transcript of the video, for your viewing and reading pleasures:

Hi There are few people that had the luck to see this device in person, and we are one of them. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the real iPhone 6, up to every screw. The iPhone 6 is like the leaks and projects showed us, and this is a fact. Like we already know, the power button is on the side, and this is good because it’s comfortable as the display dimension grown from 4 to 4.7 inches. The phone results itself bigger than the iPhone 5s, and in line with the 2014 competition devices. Compared with the predecessor, the iPhone 6 is slimmer but taller and wider. The space grey color is exactly the same as the last year model. Sadly, the Apple logo is not backlit, but is made probably with liquid metal, as is difficult to scratch and seems to auto repair itself. It has a great grade of protection against corrosion too. As we expected, the body is unibody, like a macbook, and is made in a sort of Aluminum Alloys with some plastic inserts to house the antennas. As you can see, this is not a fake or a plastic mockup. We disassembled it and you can see that the motherboard house ad A8 processor and an NFC module (yay!). The bottom part of the body is aerodynamic and the glass is curved at the edges. It’s really beautiful. Sadly this kind of manufacturing is expensive, and the glass is not made in sapphire. It’s another kind of glass, however. It’s just like a tempered and sapphire multilayer glass. By the way it surely feeling great to the touch and it’s a lot more transparent. The TouchID button is not convex, and is comparable to the 5s one, but the sensor area is increased so the sensor should work better. The FaceTime camera is not on the top of the speaker but on the side, as seen in the iPhone 4 and 4S. The iPhone 6 looks like a bigger 5th generation iPod Touch. The volume rocker is the same and the bottom part remind the music player. The lightning port and the sim slot are unchanged. Speaking about the camera, the sensor is improved, but in a slimmer body they’ve made the sacrifice to protrude the optic. The flash is circular but is still true tone, with improved low light performance for a more accurate color reproduction. Do you want to know how it feels in the hand? It feels just great. It’s really cool, and yes, the iPhone 6 will be a best seller on the market.

What do you think about the device shown in this video, do you like where Apple is heading with the iPhone 6, if this contraption turns out to be the real 4.7" deal?

Really?
By the way when Apple lost the tech war, only thing left to brag was the "design".
Now they've lost this one too.
It doesn't mean that you zomies will not buy it, though

Indeed. This phone looks like something out of the Android world, could almost be mistaken for a Samsung. A shame for Apple's design reputation.

Why not? It will be just fine seeing as how those are cpus which don't really do much of the heavy lifting anymore and are on par usually with the QC chipsets.

And a bigger screen. I also hate that design, I really like Moto phones with that curved back and the "dimple" where it is really comfortable to place your finger. But then again, a good phone has nice specs, Android, a nicely sized screen, and a good design.

Yeah, Apple gets a lot of it's money by showing off it's design, and they are going to have a hard time calling this one "inovative." The curved edges are just like the first iPhone, and making the top and bottom stick out is just plain ugly and probably uncomfortable to hold.

No, the uniform color is great, and lord forbid they go back to their dual tone BS. The antennae lines though make it pretty ugly. The rest seems standard and over accentuated in the video, it will probably look average in real life.

Completely agree. He must be on vacation or something. The sides with the oblong buttons, the protruding camera, the overly rounded edges, there are so many things wrong with this design compared to the 4/5 that one has to wonder what's happening.

You guys know I love iPhones and iOS but I'm not really happy about the design of the camera. Did Johnny Ive go on long vacation or loose a bet? If this looks just as bad in real life - it looks like I'll be sticking with my 5s for a longer time. Design wise they should have made a bigger iPhone 5s. Still hoping that this is just an iPod. Otherwise, no sale.

In my view, what they can do about camera? if you want a good camera then they have to accomodate a good lense along with a sensor... as a result camera is bumping out... the only solution was to make ip6 thicker, which I think might ruin the design of the phone

Slightly thicker iPhone, bigger battery, no camera bump - it's a win all around. I don't understand this fixation with making razor tin phones that all the manufacturers have. They're already getting too thin to hold comfortably.

Keep in mind that this is still NOT the final product, but assembled by the bloggers themselves. The real thing could look a bit better with color matched parts, more polished and solid construction, etc. The form factor is pretty much set, though.

Jake... you proclaim to be a techy, as I know... I would like to ask you, how they can fix a good camera along with a good lense without making it protruding? the only solution was to make the phone thicker, right?(or if there is any other solution?) why should apple ruin its design which is the most strongest factor in their sales?(internals are already midrange)... isn't it better to make the camera protruding and offers good camera result instead of fixing inside and compromise the result?

Some would say the protruding camera ruins the design, but that's subjective. I don't think a thicker phone would ruin anything, and would allow for more battery which is always welcome - you can't have too much battery, but you can have too little.

Overall, I think this design (if it's actually the design) is a huge step back from the 5/5s, which were very nice looking devices. It's like the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 had a baby.
