Apple may be shipping 5 million iPad 2s in July alone
Some leaked information from part suppliers for the Apple iPad 2 suggest that 5 million touch panels have been ordered by Apple in an effort to ramp up production and strengthen their grip on the still young tablet market.

There are multiple companies that are responsible for supplying these touch panels. Wintek and TPK handle the heaviest load and it is believed they shipped between 1.4 and 1.6 million panels just last month. To meet the demands of Apple they will need to step their game up as well as the smaller suppliers such as the company Cando, amongst others.

It is also possible these touch panels could be designated for the rumored LTE-capable iPad that many believe we will see at some point in the next few months. As it stands now though, the Apple iPad 2 is outselling every other tablet out there and is aiming to move further ahead of the pack. Tell us what you think in the comments below.

Lol... no I'm not bro. But this site publishes Apple articles every 30 minutes. They never publish negative articles and rumours about Apple, while they do publish negative articles about other manufacturers. Why haven't they published the article Hackers claiming to have list of usernames and passwords allegedly hacked from one of Apple Inc. servers? Every Tech site has this story except apple.com and phonearena.com

Why ship that much when the iPad2 is actually preety much only an iPad1.5. Whereas the "iPad3" is the one that would be undergoing the most hardware/software changes?

Ah, glad to see Taco's back with his very personal attacks and usual standard of quality and morality: whether it sells a lot. Except curiously he never applies that logic to anyone besides Apple.

So Taco, have you gotten to your local UPS store to ship that worthless and hated Droid Charge to me yet?

It's funny how biased Phone Arena's commentors are. 500,000 Android activations a day: "YAY ANDROID WOO, I FEEL SO GOOD ABOUT MY PURCHASE". 5 million iPads to ship in July: "PHONE ARENA'S BIASED, @#$% APPLE!"

Well, to be fair, there was a nice burst of Apple related articles this morning. I welcomed it though, we went through a bit of a dry spell there.

How can they ship 2s when they DON'T HAVE ANY IN STOCK IN THEIR warehouse and they will still be short handed with the 2s
