Apple allegedly placing iPad 3 orders in the supply channels already

We've barely put behind the hype regarding the iPhone 4S announcement with the device launching today, and now we are off to the next gadget from Cupertino, the rumored third generation of Apple's venerable iPad that essentially created the tablet market.

Susquehanna Financial analyst Jeff Fidacaro has checked with their sources in the supply chain, and iPad order numbers for Q4 spilled out were a million more than before - from 11-12 million to 13-14 million slates. Most important, the revision has been partially attributed to an initial batch of orders for the iPad 3:

“Since our last month supply chain checks we are now seeing 600,000 to 1 million iPad 3 builds showing up on the plan for the fourth quarter of calendar 2011. Our previous estimate did not include any iPad 3s.”, said Fidacaro in an interview.

Rumor has it that the third iPad generation will feature a display with double the resolution of the current edition, and will be a dream-come-true for graphics and image aficionados with some dedicated editing software. Whether or not that will be the case, we'll probably know as soon as the first quarter of next year.

Apple has nothing else new to add to it's ecosystem of products. They will just set back and add an(S) to all of it's products-- double the chip size A5,6,7 and 8 with integrated SIRI voice recognition....

Apple's upgrade to its iDevices are just to enhance the experience to its current ecosystem and not to change the ecosystem itself.

Why change it if a lot of users are happy with it?

1st camera on iPad was crap, next camera will be good, and finally on iPad 4 camera will be the best ever. Worked for the I phone.

hello ok there is some (hebrew) site that show the photos that can be in the ipad3, i think its very realistic to new apple ipad3, because they need to change and improve the design,and camera + retina display+ add siri. its a will be a big improvement to apple ipad.

would be interesting to see if the iPad 3 will be a big improvement or if it is mostly incremental like the 4S was. I also want to see Apple make iOS on iPad look different from iPhone to take advantage of the increased screen real estate, it is pretty disappointing that the interface is just a blown up iPhone basically with only a select few apps offering an interface that takes advantage of the size. Android Honeycomb is designed for tablet and utilizes a tablet's advantages over phone.
