I had the Sony Ericsson w600i for 2 years, and it is quite drop resistant. the outside doesnt get damaged, but the inside can.
It does have a speaker phone ^)^ the specs said it didn't,
it can also record calls (but it makes a beeping noise).
its a cool phone, and is kinda funny to watch people go: :???????? when they ask to use your phone.
The buttons are annoying at front
there is a button that opens internet, and one that opens media player.
side buttons can also open the media player..... sometimes my media player would randomly turn on.
Once the phone opened and called my sister, then put her on speaker phone during math.... so that can be annoying, (in other words, the phone lock kinda sucks). Camera is horrible. dont even try to take pictures with it.
one good thing about this phone I could always rely on was the sound. While sound may not be highest quality, it can get LOUD. like the alarm can be heard from downstairs while eating breakfast, that type of loud.
no way to expand memory =(.
I love the phone though. I have the Samsung Eternity now, and it feels so much more fragile and breakable than this phone. This phone can take a fall =p.
I've had this phone for 3 years and that in itself says a lot about it. I'm a high-tech junky and love to get new devices, but I've been very happy with this phone. Part of this reason is that you can change just about anything, including the skin. I love that the color display becomes monochrome during standby so you can always see the clock and any missed calls or messages. The stereo speakers pump out huge volume (although I rarely use the Walkman functions). The only things I would change are the thickness and the swivel, which is different but gets old after a while. My friends' phones of different brands have all come and gone with none lasting nearly as long as mine. My battery is finally starting to die on me and only lasts a couple days and I think I've found a suitable replacement in the Sony Ericsson W760 so it's time to let this phone go. SE got it right with their first Walkman phone.
THE PHONE IS GREAT THE ONLY THING THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE A MEMORY CARD// THAT WOULD OF MADE IT HIT THE CHARTS//THE SOUND ON THE EQUIPMENT IS GREAT BECUASE THE TWO SIDE AUDIO THAT IT HAS AND THE RADIO Y HAS CLEAR OR BETTER AS THE WALKMANS////
my bf got this phone and i hated it bc usually sony ericsson is crap. i looked up reviews and was proved wrong. even tho i really hate the orange (the blue is better, but then everyone has it) and the antenna and the way that it swivels, its an awesome phone. i have a moto v551 that sux. while i think that the mp3 player and camera are stupid bc its a PHONE, i see how some ppl use it (he does ALL THE TIME!). the sound on this phone is insane! the speaker is loud enough to hear even in a loud area such as a restaurant! also, the reception is awesome. i do not know ANYONE that gets reception in Publix...yet he does! one of my favorite features is probably the keypad lock on the side. it is so handy! also, the battery life is amazing. he goes days w/o charging it (i charge mine every night). the flashlight feature seemed stupid at first, but it actually is pretty useful! also, the phone is very durable. he drops it at work on cement all the time and NOT EVEN A SCRATCH! not even on the screen! its crazy! needless to say, as much as i started out hating it, i just ordered it.
Hey there is no sony treo!!!
"I'm definitely an extremely picky cell phone consumer and prior to buying the W600 I bought the Sony Treo which is an awful phone. With the W600 Walkman phone, I get all the features I like, great sound with the additional speakers, plus I really like the 180 degree faceplate to hide the keys. The phone I was originally replacing the the Moto Razr which I absolutely was not happy with, it had a lot of electrical problems and that was the third Razr phone I had tried."

great phone have not had any problems with it except when i drop it, it turns off. although i think it does that for some safety mechanism for the phone
