Your Galaxy Watch verdict is far more divided than I expected

For some, Galaxy Watches are worth every penny, while others aren't so convinced.

Following Samsung's major Samsung  Health update announcement, Galaxy Watches should soon become much better at giving you sleep improvement tips and more.

But with the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 also debuting at higher prices than their predecessors, I thought of something important to ask you: is the Galaxy Watch price actually justified?

Many of you shared your point of view, and it seems your opinions vary quite a bit. Let's dive in.

For many, it all boils down to features

Out of over 500 respondents, 31.15% think that Galaxy Watches are worth it for their features. For those users, the feature-rich design seems to be a top priority. Now, I wouldn't necessarily disagree with you, even though my opinion is slightly different.

Let's face it: Samsung has a nearly flawless auto workout detection feature while also packing a BioActive sensor that estimates body composition. Those aren't the only exciting features, of course, but they are some of the extras that help these wearables stand out from the crowd.

The complete opposite

Not everyone is convinced, though. About 30.77% of you think Galaxy Watches cost way more than they should, and frankly, I get it.

Over the past few years, Samsung hasn't exactly offered major upgrades from one Galaxy Watch generation to the next. It's not alone in this (just look at Apple Watches!), but at least some brands manage to keep MSRP largely unchanged.

Samsung, meanwhile, has been increasing wearable prices over the past couple of years. Let me break it down for you: the Galaxy Watch 7 with a 40mm case was $299.99 at launch. Two generations later, the Galaxy Watch 9 with a 40mm case is $379.99.

That's a 26.7% increase in just two generations, by the way. And yet, the design, battery life, and features haven't exactly improved by 26.7%...

This is what the rest of you said

These two poll options got the highest interest from respondents, but for 19.23% of you, the Galaxy Watches are worth it for their design. In other words, Samsung's use of premium building materials and continued focus on elevating the design hasn't gone unnoticed.

Finally, around 18.85% of respondents say they're not sure whether Galaxy Watches are worth it. I'll admit, this surprised me a bit. It seems that for some of you, the decision simply isn't straightforward. At the end of the day, what's wrong with that?

My opinion probably won't shock you

In case you've somehow missed where I stand, I honestly think Galaxy Watches are no longer worth it. Had Samsung not introduced two consecutive price hikes in two years, I might have felt differently.

But to me, if a brand is going to raise prices, it needs to offer something more than incremental changes to justify the increase.
