The next Galaxy Buds look surprisingly different in leaked images

Rumors and renders of the upcoming Galaxy Buds On have been showing up for months, and they have all pointed at more or less the same thing. It seems we’re about to get a pair of open-ear earbuds, which are expected to launch in the coming weeks, and a new leak has practically confirmed their design.

Galaxy Buds On renders confirm their open-ear design

Samsung is about to launch a new pair of Galaxy Buds, which will feature an open-ear clip-on design, according to two new leaked images, shared by Android Headlines. One of the images is a close-up render, while the other looks like a promotional photo with a man wearing the buds.

The two images basically confirm earlier leaks that have suggested the Galaxy Buds On would feature a design similar to the Sony LinkBuds Clip and the Huawei FreeClip 2. In the promotional photo, the earbud wraps around the lower part of the ear, with the main part going inside the ear and the rest staying on the back side.



Just like other similar earbuds, the two bulbs are connected by a bridge that wraps around the ear. The side that goes on the back of the ear is wider and more flat, while the rounder end that goes in the ear has a speaker. The buds also appear to have at least one microphone.

Galaxy Buds On may come with premium features

Initially known as the Galaxy Buds Active, the new buds are once again claimed to be called Galaxy Buds On instead. They’re said to use open-ear air conduction to direct sound into the ear, though there’s little known about their specs yet.

Earlier rumors suggested the Buds On may come with several cool features, including some that have first appeared on the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. The open-ear buds may get nod and shake gesture support, allowing users to accept and reject calls only by moving their head.

Another pair of features could be Auto Volume and Volume Boost. They may automatically detect when the user is in a loud environment and adjust the volume accordingly. There were also signs of Gemini support, a voice recording feature, and an ability to pause playing media when the buds detect the user has fallen asleep.

Samsung fans have been consistently mentioning how much they’d love for the company to bring back the bean-shaped buds it used to make. However, many users on Reddit appear to be quite excited about the Galaxy Buds On and the new design.
