OnePlus is about to release a 8,600 mAh battery monster for non-stop gaming
OnePlus is releasing a spectacular gaming phone we might not see outside of China.

OnePlus might be exiting the key US and EU markets soon, but it doesn't seem to be stepping down the rate of its phone releases.
Or teasers, for that matter––one of the devices that will be imminently launched in China is the gaming-oriented OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra, and fresh new info about the phone has just popped up on Weibo.
Hardware extravaganza
OnePlus has just confirmed that its upcoming Ace 6 Ultra phone will be equipped with an impressive 8,600 mAh silicon-carbon battery and ultra-fast 120W wired charging. To top it all off, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra will also be featuring the toughest IP69K rating, making it even more impervious to damage from the elements.
These hardware specs are joining the fray of already known ones about this fresh OnePlus phone. We already knew it will have a 165 Hz display made by BOE, which will most certainly retain this high refresh rate in select mobile games only and fall back to a lower refresh rate in all other scenarios.
OnePlus revealed the Ace 6 Ultra will also boast a "3D ultrasonic fingerprint", dual symmetrical loudspeakers, as well as screen glass with improved drop and scratch resistance.
The phone will also feature a detachable gamepad, but it will most likely be a separate purchase and not part of the box set.
What are your mobile gaming preferences?
Can you game for seven hours without stopping? This phone can!
This would be great news for just about anyone that could name all the different currencies in Call of Duty: Mobile from the top of their head, as the new device will be unapologetically aimed at gamers.
OnePlus promises seven hours of continuous gameplay at the maximum refresh rate. What's more, a brief 10-minute charge is boasted as enough to provide two extra hours of gameplay in emergency conditions.
I know for a fact that people who game on their phones for seven hours exist, and they are the target demographics for this device.
Will any of this matter?
But at the end of the day, will any of this matter to global consumers, or will the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra remain a China-exclusive phone?
Historically, we've seen many OnePlus Ace phones transcend China's boundaries under different names, with the freshest example being the OnePlus Ace 6T, which was rebranded to the OnePlus 15R for the global market.
Is something similar possible for the Ace 6 Ultra? Sure, though we would have heard about such a move already if it were happening.
Gaming phones are a weird bunch
I can't say I've ever been a fan of gaming phones despite spending between half an hour and an hour gaming on my phone every day. Still, with hardware getting so far ahead and with so many emulators existing for Android, getting such a phone could definitely make sense if you're looking for a budget Steam Deck alternative with a lot of asterisk involved.
