For the ever-growing mobile gaming industry, many people often use controllers for their phones. For example, one of the most popular types of such controllers are ones that are designed like traditional gaming console controllers but with space to hold the phone above them.
While Apple has not dived into the gaming industry like the Windows ecosystem did eons ago, the company has been taking steps to rectify that mistake now. One way it allegedly plans to do this is by releasing its own first-party controllers for the iPhone.

Apple wants to use the Beats branding
According to Apple insider Mark Gurman, the company has been considering launching its controllers under the Beats brand name. Beats has been making other accessories for Apple products for some time now in addition to its headphones.
This has led to some Apple users wondering whether the company is now using Beats as its accessory brand.

Gurman feels the same way, alleging that Apple probably doesn’t want to release all of the accessories it makes under its own more premium name.

As mentioned above, Apple has been warming up to gaming these past few years, both on Mac as well as its mobile platforms. The company even showed how the iPhone Duo performs with games at the Apple event this week.
If Beats-branded controllers do come out soon, then people who are serious about gaming on their iPhone will have a go-to option for controllers. Given, of course, that the controllers are actually good and don’t pale in comparison to third-party offerings. For now, we don’t even know what kind of controllers Apple is working on.

Personally, I’ve never been able to get into mobile gaming. It’s either PC gaming or console gaming for me, so these controllers won’t be for people like myself.
However, I’m glad to see Apple finally getting serious about the massive gaming industry. Releasing the Apple Vision Pro without support for most existing VR games was a highly miscalculated move, in my opinion, and it’s no wonder that Apple got Sony to support the Vision Pro on its PSVR2 controllers later on.
