Apple Fitness+ was under review recently, as the service was not bringing in reasonable revenue. As reported back then, Fitness+ is seeing improvements to make it a more lucrative offer, and Apple has just announced that it is coming to 28 new markets.

Apple Fitness+ coming to new markets

One of the reasons that Fitness+ isn’t as big as it could be is the fact that its availability is relatively limited. Apple is rectifying that mistake, and starting December 15, Apple Fitness+ will be available in 28 new markets, including the following that the company has announced for the time being.

  • Norway
  • Sweden
  • Singapore
  • Poland
  • The Netherlands
  • Taiwan
  • Hong Kong
  • Vietnam
  • The Philippines
  • Chile
  • And India

Furthermore, Apple Fitness+ is also coming to Japan next year. All of the new markets will also get a new feature in Fitness+.

AI-generated dubbing

Fitness+ is getting AI-generated dubbing in Spanish and German this year, with Japanese dubbing coming next year alongside the aforementioned launch of Fitness+ in Japan.

The workouts and meditations will feature AI-generated voices of the actual trainers featured in those videos, but speaking one of the three new languages. If users select their preferred language in the Apple Fitness+ app settings, any videos with dubbing available in that language will automatically play with said dubbing.

Expect more updates soon

Now that there is more pressure on Apple Fitness+ to improve its revenue, we can expect similar updates in the near future. These new changes are all quality of life improvements, and the increased availability should definitely help boost subscription numbers.

Apple Fitness+ is currently a service that sets you back $9.99 each month. Industry insider Mark Gurman had pointed out that the service wasn’t too popular, but that canceling it would be negative PR for Apple. The company has been running the service all this time because it doesn’t actually cost it that much.

However, if updates like this continue to come out at a regular rate, then I think that adoption should go up across the world. Those who use Apple Fitness+ swear by it, and there are so many cool updates that the company can introduce to make it a better deal.

It might even become a decently profitable venture for Apple.
