'Mystery' dual-screen, triple-camera phone teaser video is likely of a Vivo NEX sequel

Say what you will about Chinese phone makers but they are currently at the forefront of "all-screen" innovation. After parroting Apple with wide notches, they moved to waterdrop ones, then slider designs and, last but not least, they are now in the dual-screen phone category, removing the need for a front-facing camera altogether.

The next phone in that last installment series may be the Vivo NEX 2 which is most likely the "mystery" phone in the video above, as rumors about a dual-display NEX 2 have been swirling around in the last couple of days from many sources.

Its predecessor was the one that sort of pioneered the true "all-screen" field by having a pop-up selfie camera onboard, thus negating the requirement for a thicker top bezel to fit one. The NEX 2, however, will be slapping a second screen on the back of the phone to look yourself up while taking a selfie with the superior rear camera set, just like the Nubia X does now.

Word on the street is that the NEX 2 will have even better screen-to-body ratio than the Nubia, and it may be true as you can see in the video, at least the bottom bezel looks a bit thinner.

The other interesting part is that there will be a triple camera on the back (yes, that will be your selfie-snapper, too) with a 3D-sensing time-of-flight sensor, just like on the R17 Pro, and, rumor has it, on the Galaxy S10 5G model

Last but not least, something called the Lunar Ring can be seen around the camera part which is probably just shiny LEDs circling the triple camera area. In any case, the Vivo NEX 2 is expected to be announced next month, so stay tuned for more on this unique setup.

I'm very satisfied with my NexS. It's solves the front camera problem perfectly for me since I hardly use the darn thing.
