Video teaser suggests that the BlackBerry KEYone will soon be unveiled in India

The BlackBerry KEYone is the most exciting and in demand handset that the company has had in some time. The outstanding physical QWERTY keyboard is one of the reasons why, along with the amazing battery life thanks to the energy-sipping Snapdragon 625 chipset. And with the same camera sensors as the Google Pixel, the camera takes photographs that you normally wouldn't expect to see come from a BlackBerry.

Thanks to some teasers posted by BlackBerry Mobile India's Twitter account, the odds look good that the phone is about to become available in the country. In addition, a video teaser on YouTube not only hints that the KEYone will soon be introduced in the country, the dark blacked out look of the teaser could indicate that a rumored black version of the phone will be released in India.

Rumors, based on an unveiling date accidentally posted by BlackBerry Mobile India and since deleted, suggest an August 1st unveiling of the KEYone in what is one of the top smartphone markets in the world. I'm surprised it took this long, the Indians have long supported BlackBerry.

BB is making some noise again, and that's good for tech. All the major players need to stay major.

Fully agree with that statement. We all benefit from a more competitive market. Also, choice. :)

Amen Dark. The KEYone may not be for everybody but it's great that the choice is there. Killer battery life and a more than capable camera checks off most users' wishlists. Throw in a stellar physical keyboard and BlackBerry security and you've got a winner on your hands if that's what you're into. For my aging eyes, a 4-1/2" display just doesn't cut it anymore but I'm keeping an eye on this anyway. At least every Best Buy in SoFla has them in stock for a change.

I'm glad BB didn't tank, when it got a little rough, they have their place in the market too. They needed something new and fresh, and delivered. All they need to do, is focus on their sector, great battery life and the new sweet look. No need to try to compete with Samsung and Apple, just keep making their devices better. How they addressed the screen adhesive issue, won them more respect. They owned it, and immediately fixed the issue. Kudos on the comeback.

Exactly, Darkk. BlackBerry is doing great sticking to software and security while they have others build, market and distribute their branded handsets. The screen lift issue was unfortunate, and I'm still pissed that something like that made it into consumer hands, but they quickly acknowledged the problem and fixed it, no blaming the user involved. I agree, and that's exactly the path that BlackBerry has been on. They cater to a different market entirely, and it's working for them.

Awesome news. The more markets it's sold in, the better. It's rumored to have a slight specs bump as well.

Right on bro, that's all that matters. Let the haters hate. That's how I feel about the S8 Plus. We work for what we want, and no trolls will change my mind.

Now that I have the KEYᴼᴺᴱ, I'm looking at the Nokia 8. Nokia has always been an all-time favorite of mine. I'm going to pick up the Nokia 6 in the meantime.

I'm also curious about the V30, probably won't buy it, but I wanna try it out. I like LG's new design language.

S625 only, why not S835 version? S835 with 6gb Ram

Battery life - pure and simple. You're not going to be gaming on a 4-1/2" screen and besides, their target audience doesn't require graphic and/or memory intensive apps.

Actually i am quite ok with 625 But ram should be 4 gb instead of 3 I am keyone user too And you are right about the battery life

I'm a KEYᴼᴺᴱ user as well. 3 gigs of RAM is suitable for me and what I do on it, as I'm sure the target audience of the KEYᴼᴺᴱ is fine with it, as well. But to each his/her own. The KEYᴼᴺᴱ being launched in India is rumored to have 4 gigs of RAM.
