Verizon to have the Nokia Lumia 822 and HTC 8X in its lineup for Black Friday shoppers

It looks like Verizon Wireless is gearing up to add the Nokia Lumia 822 and HTC Windows Phone 8X to its line-up in time for Black Friday. That's something we can imagine Microsoft being very grateful for, since it can't really afford missing such important shopping seasons, having in mind the frail market share of its mobile OS.

The Nokia Lumia 822 will be sold by Verizon at an on-contract price of $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate, putting it in mid-range category. Meanwhile, the HTC Windows Phone 8X will cost you $199.99 and a signature on a two-year contract.

Specs-wise, both devices are pretty similar, but use different screen technologies. While the Lumia 822 is equipped with an AMOLED screen with a mediocre resolution of 480x800 pixels, the 8X comes with a beautiful S-LCD2 display with 720x1280 res, making everything on the screen appear clearer and vivider.

Somewhere down the line, Verizon is also expected to get another Windows Phone handset, this time by Samsung - the ATIV Odyssey - expected to be a variant of the international ATIV S.
