Unannounced Verizon branded LG handset visits the FCC; is it the LG V10 sequel?
The other day, we told you that word out of Korea had the LG V10 sequel, the LG V11 or LG V20, facing a release in September. For that to happen in the U.S., we will have to see the handset get certified by the FCC. On Friday it was revealed that the unannounced LG-VS835 had been certified by the U.S. regulatory agency. There is speculation that this model is the LG V11 or LG V20.

The VS in the model number indicates that the phone vetted by the FCC is headed to Verizon. If you're curious, the Verizon LG V10 is model number LG-VS990. The LG-VS835 happened to be spotted in a database back in April.

The FCC documentation includes the usual diagram showing the positioning of the FCC label, and the engineering tests that are conducted by the agency. We expect that the LG V11/20 will carry the secondary screen found on the original model. Considering that the LG G5 has gone over like a lead balloon, we wouldn't be surprised to see the manufacturer throw everything including the kitchen sink into the device.

Thanks for the tip!

They need a good phone after the blunder known as the G5. The V10 even with the weaker specs is the better built and designed device, I'd rather have a G4 than G5.

Bootloop man. You don't want a G4 over a G5. The G5 is a great device by the way.

I think this boot loop thing is blown way out of proportion, working for Verizon the G4 was one of our most reliable phones last year, never seen the issue personally. Maybe my store and our customers were lucky.

Didn't say it was weak, said it was weaker than. Should I have said not as fast? And I was taking about the hardware in it, not the sales.

G5 is actually a great device, LG Friends blunder aside. It's powerful, smooth and has the best camera on a phone today(IMO). The only thing that really killed it was LG's take on the modular phone and lack of wide spread access for the "friends".

Yeah it is a solid device by itself. Swapped back to line after selling my op3 to a co worker. I did get mine replaced though due to some hot pixels on the bottom right. Replacement is as good as it gets. Its my DD now.

No this is some random budget phone from LG. Successor to VS990 can't be VS835

If it's the successor of V10 hope it will have better battery.

I have the V10. Other than it being a little 'power hungry' the V10 has been a solid performer. If LG does nothing but bump-up the onboard storage to 128 gigabytes and figure out a way to use battery power a bit more frugally I'm buying-in; an uptick in screen-size (for marketing purposes would help) would be appreciated here. I'll be following the V20's progress as August rolls around. Once we are in August then the anticipation can kick-in to high gear for the V10's successor. Oh, please keep the replaceable battery. Thank you, LG, for the spare battery, charger and 200 gigabyte micro SDXC card when I bought the V10 early last November. I can't believe that it's almost nine months ago.

Same here. I got it the first day I could find it at T-Mobile. It sold out at three stores I went to. I got the T-Mobile discount price they did for three days of $499 instead of $599 and got the free stuff. I hope they do something like that again. I'm definitely looking to get a new one as long as they keep the second screen. I'd like a little better selfie cameras as well. I like dual cameras, but a little better light detection would be great.

I can't locate my receipt which would at least jog my memory as to what I paid at Verizon for two LG V10s early last November. I picked-up one for my fiancée as an early Christmas gift; she used hers to record video of her interactions with her six month-old granddaughter last Christmas. Sadly, in early April, my fiancée passed away owing to some lingering complications from surgery in 2011. The videos we recorded (I captured several) constitute the only record of my sweetheart spending time with her youngest grandchild. When the little girl gets older she'll be able to get a sense of who her maternal grandmother was thanks to grandmom's insistence we capture the moment. I have a sentimental attachment to the V10 if you read between the lines. My sweetheart's V10 is just as she left it the day she passed away. I intend to maintain it as an 'historical artifact' with everything intact.

How about 3500 to 4000 mah battery size, waterproof, 820 cpu, ultra battery saver mode equivalent software feature, keep IR blaster, removable battery, 2nd screen and the other features the V10 has.

The duel screen in front is very nice for night viewing to see the time if you wake up, instead of the bright screen on.. That's handy i hope the next LG has the same small screen at the top!!
