The popular post-apocalyptic zombie TV series "The Walking Dead" will soon get it's own AR game, called "The Walking Dead: Our World". To play the game, you use your phone and its camera to view the real world around you. The key difference is that you'll be seeing zombies coming at you on your screen, added through the magic of augmented reality. You'll be able to slice down some zombie heads as early as Q2, 2018, on both iOS and Android.
The game will be similar to "Pokemon: GO" in that you'll have a map of your region and you'll roam around freely, possibly encountering random zombie invasions. You'll also collect weapons and characters, further expanding the ways you deal with the brainless ones.
"The Walking Dead: Our World" is just one of the several games to be using Google Maps' location services in its gameplay. Google plans to reveal more about the rest on this year's Games Developers Conference, which will be held from March 19 to March 23 in San Francisco.
