Telus launches BlackBerry Z30 on Tuesday, cuts price on Wednesday
The conditions of the deal/s may have changed since the initial publishing of this post.
On Tuesday, Canadian carriers Bell and Telus each launched the BlackBerry Z30. The first 'Berry to hit the 5 inch screen mark, and the most powerful BlackBerry model to boot, was priced off-contract for $700 at Bell and $650 at Telus. We would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when the latter carrier had a strategy meeting the very next day. Something caused Telus' management to cut the price of the phone $50 between Tuesday's launch and this morning. That makes the BlackBerry Z30 $600 at Telus, $100 under Bell's price.
The BlackBerry Z30 is still awaiting its launch on Canada's largest carrier, Rogers. Originally, the mobile operator had decided not to offer the BlackBerry Z30 to its subscribers, but quickly changed its mind. Surely the fact that BlackBerry and Rogers are both Canadian companies had nothing to do with the latter's decision to change its mind, right?
Besides Rogers, we are still awaiting a launch date for the BlackBerry Z30 on regional carrier MTS in Manitoba.
