Telegram makes its way to Android Wear 2.0

1comment

Android Wear 2.0 officially launched on Wednesday, and it seems that it could make a worthy competitor to Samsung's Tizen and Apple's watchOS. One of the main new features is the ability to install apps directly from the watch, via the Play Store. And one of the top messaging apps on Android is making use of this new Android Wear improvement.

Telegram just launched for Android Wear 2.0, and it packs more than enough functionality. The watch version of Telegram lets you browse through chats and reply with voice, text, emoji and stickers. The app also makes use of all input methods available on Android Wear 2.0 – on-screen keyboard, handwriting recognition, and emoji drawing.

The Android Wear 2.0 version of Telegram also allows users to create groups, view contacts and select themes to customize the app. Said themes will also be released for the main Android application too soon, according to the Telegram team.

In the meantime, if you want to try out the color themes feature, you will need to use one of the two Android Wear 2.0 watches available – the LG Watch Style and Sport.
