T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II also gets an update that brings Wi-Fi calling
We bet that some T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II owners were a bit jealous yesterday, when the HTC Amaze 4G received a brand spanking new software update that brought along the useful feature of Wi-Fi calling. Fear not for the many using Sammy’s prized stallion, as the Galaxy S II is getting its own update starting today.

According to a couple of internal memos, the mighty T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II will also be blessed with Wi-Fi functionality thanks to a new software update that’s being rolled out starting today. Available as an over-the-air update or through Kies Mini, users can install the software update to reap all the rewards of Wi-Fi calling – plus, it comes in handy when signal reception to the network isn’t that great.

Specifically, the update will upgrade the handset to Android 2.3.5, with the software version being T989VUVKL1. Moreover, it’ll also pack along caller ID and battery enhancements to better improve the handset’s usability.
