Students use Twitter on phones for college classroom
Just about everywhere you turn, we're seeing more and more people using Twitter for various ways of communication. Actually, it can become quite useful for educational purposes. Monica Rankin, a professor at the University of Texas-Dallas, required students in her class to sign up for a Twitter account. The reasoning behind it was due to the sheer number of students in the lecture hall – making it extremely difficult to converse over the large area for everyone to listen. Once the class was in session, students posted messages and ask questions using their mobile devices; which then were projected on a screen for everyone to see.
