Sony unveils Xperia Z1 Colorful Edition in China, an LTE-less Z1 Compact
Sony has just unveiled its new Xperia Z1 Colorful Edition along with a few other phones for the world’s biggest market, China. The Xperia Z1 Colorful Edition, also known as the M51w, is basically a China-bound variation on the Z1 Compact with the same 4.3” display, top-notch Snapdragon 800 chip, 20-megapixel camera and colorful glass body.

There is one key difference, though, and that’s the lack of 4G LTE support in this particular model (the Z1 Compact has 4G LTE connectivity). The lack of LTE connectivity is not that big of a problem in China where the network is only now starting to get rolled out and coverage is very limited.

Sony announced two other China-bound devices. The first one is the LTE-equipped Xperia Z1 that is also known under the L39u model name. The second one is the 3G-enabled Xperia T2 Ultra dual (also known as the XM50h) for China Unicom, and it also comes in a 4G/LTE XM50t model that is coming to China Mobile.

Take a look at the first images from the Xperia Z1 Colorful Edition right below.
