Sony Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra
At Sony’s IFA event later this month, the company is largely expected to unveil its next flagship,
the Xperia XZ3. Alongside this, recent certifications have suggested that an Xperia XA3 may also arrive and now new benchmark results are seemingly backing this up, although the smartphone is using a different model number.
Overall, the Xperia XA3 in question which goes by the name Sony H4493 scored a total of 853 on the single-core test, while this number increased to 4172 when all cores were working together. This, according to the screenshot, was achieved thanks to the presence of a Snapdragon 660. Additionally, it’s worth noting that 6GB of RAM is present. Also, Android 8.0 Oreo is listed as being pre-installed straight out of the box but with the recent release of
Android 9 Pie, Sony could potentially update the device to the newer OS version ahead of the release.
Design-wise, the Xperia XA3 should follow in the footsteps of the current
Xperia XA2 by sticking to an aluminum frame and a plastic rear. Unlike this device, though, the newer model should make use of a taller 18:9 display with a resolution of 2160 x 108o pixels. This will allow for a significant reduction of bezel size up front and should allow the smartphone to better compete with rival offerings.
As mentioned above, the Xperia XA3 will most probably make its official appearance at Sony’s IFA event
on August 30. What remains unclear for now, though, is what release timeframe the company has in the works and how it will choose to price the model.
