Samsung's next Windows Phone, Huron SM-W750V, might be sold as the Ativ SE by Verizon

Samsung announced only one smartphone at MWC 2014 this week - the Android KitKat-based Galaxy S5 - leaving Windows Phone fans wondering if the company had any new WP handsets in the pipeline. It seems that it does, anyway, and it’s a handset that we’ve been hearing about quite often lately: the SM-W750V. Codenamed Samsung Huron, this smartphone will reportedly be called Ativ SE at Verizon. That’s what @evleaks says, without mentioning when Verizon is planning to launch the handset.

Ativ, as you may know, is the brand used by Samsung for its previous Windows Phone 8 devices, as well as for some of its Windows tablets.

The SM-W750V / Ativ SE looks a lot like last year’s Samsung Galaxy S4, and seems to pack a similar set of features, including a 5-inch 1080p display, LTE, quad-core Snapdragon processor, and 2GB of RAM.

Microsoft is getting ready to release the new Windows Phone 8.1 sometime this spring, but it’s not clear if the Ativ SE will run the new version of the OS at launch. If not, it will certainly receive an updated later.
