Samsung starts rolling out an ICS update for the Galaxy Tab 8.9
Rejoice, Galaxy Tab 8.9 users, Samsung has started rolling out an Android 4 ICS update for the Galaxy Tab 8.9, which originally launched with Android 3 Honeycomb. Please, keep in mind that the manufacturer will be gradually making the update available in different territories, as is often the practice. According to some sources, the update is currently being rolled out in Austria. Users should note that if their update doesn't arrive over-the-air, they should try updating through Samsung KIES.

Ice Cream Sandwich will bring a slight UI facelift, as well as numerous under-the-hood improvements regarding performance and battery life. It's a very stable operating system and reliable mobile OS, so users coming from Honeycomb will definitely notice a difference. It isn't known currently if Samsung has plans to update the Galaxy Tab 8.9 any further. Still getting to ICS is what's important when it come to Android updates, as it is the biggest step forward compared to the previous versions. Post-ICS updates are also good to have, of course, but bring smaller improvements.
