Samsung Pay on Gear S3 not working with Google Pixel

Samsung Pay on Gear S3 not working with Google Pixel
According to earlier reports, the Samsung Pay feature of the Gear S3 smartwatch should have worked with all Android devices running KitKat 4.4 or a later version of Google's OS. However, this seems to exclude the Google Pixel for now.

A frustrated user took to Twitter to ask Samsung Pay support about an “Installation failed” error, while installing Samsung Pay on his Google Pixel XL. He received an official response a few hours later that the Pixel devices are not supported for Samsung Pay. Considering the previous statement that the app should work on all devices running KitKat and up, this came as a bit of a letdown for Pixel users.

Samsung Pay support continued, saying that its team is constantly working on adding new devices to the officially supported list, but didn't provide any estimates for a Pixel or Pixel XL support. So, for now, all we can do is wait.

If you are buying an S3 and pixel for Samsung Pay you gotta ask yourself WTF! LOL I have both, and while Samsung Pay doesn't work - I don't actually use the service so theres no problems here! The S3 is bloody brilliant tho, and so is the Pixel. To me its a non-existent issue..

Google is behind everything.. The Note explosions.. The iPhone screenshots issue and this as well. They know they cant sell that crappy Pixel any other way than to make apple and samsung look bad

If Google is behind this, the whole Open Handset Alliance will be up on arms.

Sounds like a Google issue. Maybe Google is blocking Samsung Pay, because they want you to use Google Wallet or Android Pay. Waiting on my T-Mobile Notification that my Gear S3 is on the way. Am sure it will work perfect with my Note 7.

Samsung support never point the finger to Google, they just mention they are in the process of adding Pixel support which runs Nougat a new API.

Its more likely a Samsung issue than a Google issue IMO..

Smh, really Samsung? I don't want to waste my money if I can't use Samsung Pay with the #3 and my 6P.

Works fine on all phones except those running Android 7.1. Anyone that updated their Nexus (developer version is 7.1) needs to downgrade to 7.0 for it to work.
