Samsung Gear S3 frontier and classic get new update that adds a new feature
Both Samsung smartwatches powered by Tizen, Gear S3 frontier and classic are getting a new update that brings one new feature and another improvement. The update seems to be rolling out slowly to all units all over the world, so if it didn't show up on your smartwatch give it some time.

Alternatively, you could launch the Samsung Gear app, select Update Gear Software, and choose Download Updates Manually. Still, it's no guarantee that you'll be able to get it before you receive the notification.

In any case, the most important thing about the update is that it brings a new gesture that allows Gear S3 smartwatch users to answer incoming calls by rotating the bezel. There's no setting or toggle where you can enable this feature, it works by default after you apply the update.

Simply rotate the bezel of the smartwatch clockwise a couple of times and you should be able to answer an incoming call. Additionally, the update contains a “visual accessibility feature improvement” whatever that means.

This is a very small update that doesn't change the version of the OS, so your smartwatch should remain on Tizen 3.0.0.2 after applying the update.

Does this update also let you navigate through menus and widgets with the bezel? No, wait, my bad, that is also basic functionality since the first day the watch was created, just like this "new" feature to answer and (you'll never believe it) decline calls.

If you guys are correct, and I have no reason to doubt you, just what did Samsung update on my watch? My upgrade happened yesterday.

This watch sucks.. A waste of good money.. No battery life AT ALL. What it's purpose if you can't use it and have to charge it ALL THE DAMN TIME. Waste.

EIther you are lying or have got a bad watch and should exchange it. I get up to 4 days, never less than one and that is with very heavy usage. In full power saving mode, I could get even more.

You probably have a defective battery. I get 4 days easily. When in use, I have bt on. When not, airplane mode.

Lol...Fail. So the question is what really was the update for. Because that has worked that way the whole time.

At first I thought “wasn’t this a feature already?” And then I read: “This is a very small update ... so your smartwatch should remain on Tizen 3.0.0.2 after applying” At that point I realized this post was made to poke at Samsung for not updating their smartwatch or doing anything new in two years
