Samsung Galaxy S9 rumored to come with bigger battery, here's the alleged capacity

The Samsung Galaxy S9 could arrive with a slightly larger battery than its predecessor, according to a new rumor. The latest speculation comes from Chinese website Weibo, where a user who supposedly is in possession of a test unit shared the following information:

Now, Google Translate isn't exactly stellar with Chinese to English translations, but from what we can make out, Samsung's smaller 2018 flagship should pack a 3,200mAh power cell. Compared to the Galaxy S8, that's an increase of 200mAh.

The message also mentions that Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology is also currently being tested and could be present on the upcoming devices. While that's an improvement over the QC 2.0 on the S8 and S8+, we have to say that we were hoping to see either the QC 4.0 or 4+ standards on the S9.

Needless to say, such rumors should be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism. However, the information is in line with the alleged S9 renders that emerged a few days ago. The Galaxy S9 will supposedly be a tad bit wider and thicker than its predecessor, which should theoretically allow it to host a larger battery.
