Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ updated with faster face recognition at Verizon

A new update is now available for Verizon Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones, which brings a couple of enhancements and bug fixes. The highlight of the update is the improvement of the face recognition feature, which should be faster now.

There's a new “faster recognition” option that you can enable to unlock your phone faster, but that will decrease security, so Samsung recommends turning this option off.

Samsung also added a new tweak that will allow Galaxy S8 and S8+ users to interact with the navigation bar “Show and hide button” with a double tap. After the update, users will be able to double tap the lock / unlock button (instead of a single tap), which should prevent any accidental or unintentional change in the navigation bar configuration.

Furthermore, a fix for the alarm notifications on the Always-on display has been implemented too. Fixes for car Bluetooth music browser and briefing card update notification issues are included in the update as well.

Finally, many VPN and Knox improvements have been added for B2B enterprise users, as well as updates for Caller Name ID and Smart Switch.

The update also seem to improve battery and the stutter animation is completely gone when you leave an app by hitting the home button.

It didn't lag it had a stutter in the animation it's a difference. the T-Mobile version didn't have it. So I'm assuming that was left there by verizon. But it's gone now so it don't matter.

Lol what's the difference between lag and stutter?

I'm guessing the difference is the subtle nature of a stutter as opposed to the jarring nature of lag. You see stutters as small dips in frame rates that are sudden and don't last very long. However, lag lasts for seconds and can be extremely noticable to some people. I've never seen my 7+ lag, but it does stutter from time to time after gaming and other processor intensive tasks.

Exactly this. Haters talk as if those few dropped frames are going to ruin their lives.

My ipad pro 9.7 stutters sometimes, but rarely lags.

Lag is a hang or pause. stutters are barely noticeable. maybe a small skipped frame.

Yet, the isheep will swear on their life that their phones are stutter/lag free.

The glare on that display LOL. People must be blind to put up with that crap, let alone to say anything good about it.

And yet, they do say good things about it. Like, it's the best display on a smartphone. Hurts, eh?
