Rumor: 6-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus to be released next year
Samsung's next big thing, the Galaxy S8 series, could be officially announced in April 2017, more than 1 year after the Galaxy S7 family. While Samsung isn't ready to confirm anything about the Galaxy S8, we've heard plenty of rumors about it. The latest rumor comes from Korean website MK News, and has it that Samsung is planning to release a "Galaxy S8 Plus".

Reportedly sporting a 6-inch display, the Galaxy S8 Plus should be launched alongside a 5-inch Galaxy S8. Interestingly, both models could feature dual curve Quad HD screens, which would mean that there's no longer need to include "edge" in their names (since the curved edges won't be a differentiating factor, as they are between the S7 and S7 edge).

Although a 6-inch screen is quite large, the Galaxy S8 Plus could have about the same size as the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 7, thanks to minimized bezels and an impressive screen-to-body ratio of about 90%. Both the 6-inch Galaxy S8 Plus and the 5-inch Galaxy S8 might have fingerprint scanners embedded in their displays, though we also heard that the fingerprint sensors may actually be situated on the rear shell.

For now, we can't be sure of anything, save maybe for the fact that the Galaxy S8 series will be quite different from the Galaxy S7, and it should represent the main threat to Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

What do you think, is a 6-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 a good idea? Or would you rather have a 5.5-inch model next to the smaller 5-inch one?
