Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 are now being taken by the manufacturer in the U.S.
Back in May, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 tablet was unveiled by Samsung. Today, the tablet is available for pre-orders in the U.S. directly from the manufacturer. This is the 16GB, Wi-Fi only version of the slate and is priced at $299.99. Shipping is free, and the tablet will ship in 7 to 10 business days.

You probably want to know the tablet's specs, and we can't blame you. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 will carry a (Surprise!) 10.1-inch LCD screen with a 1200 x 1920 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 224ppi. An Exynos 7870 SoC is under the hood carrying an octa-core 1.6GHz CPU, along with the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The tablet offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable native storage. A 200GB capacity microSD slot is available for those seeking additional storage. Keeping the lights on is a 7300mAh battery.

An 8MP camera with an aperture of f/1.9 is on back, along with a 2MP front-facing snapper. Android 6.0 is pre-installed along with 20 apps designed for the kids.

Currently happy with my Tab S, but this would be the one I'd get if I didn't have it.

If only I could rush into another Samsung tablet that a mere year and a half after release doesn't support vendor supplied updates to the next version of Android. Perfect!

Come on Samsung. Make a tablet that beats your flagship phone specs. Where's your Note tablet at? You given up on tablets?
