Pokemon GO Earth Day events announced for April 22
Niantic, the team behind the Pokemon GO phenomenon, has just announced it will host local cleanup events around the world for all players who want to attend. The developers have teamed up with Mission Blue to try and convince Pokemon GO players that they can make a difference on Earth Day, April 22.

For those who don't know, Mission Blue is an organization that focuses on protecting the oceans. Apparently, if enough players globally attend and partake in the cleanup on April 22, they will unlock the following rewards, which will be available worldwide:

  • 1,500 attendees: 2× catch Stardust for Grass-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokemon for 48 hours
  • 3,000 attendees: 3× catch Stardust for Grass-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokemon for 48 hours
Events for Earth Day have been confirmed in many countries, including United States, Japan, France, Belgium, Portugal, Taiwan, and others. You can find all the places where Niantic and Mission Blue will host Earth Day events on the dedicated page that we linked below.
