Picture of Rugged Casio Commando 4G LTE, wearing Verizon brand, leaks
A rugged water and dust resistant Android powered smartphone is making its way to Verizon. And it is not the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. A leaked picture tweeted by @evleaks shows what is allegedly the Casio Commando 4G LTE. The photo shows a device that matches up with a picture of the device that was received by the FCC, so perhaps our use of the word "allegedly" is a bit too strong.

We don't have any specs to reveal, nor do we have a launch date. We can always fall back on the quick and dirty method to find a release date-look at the date that is on the picture of the phone. This really doesn't work too often, but let's go ahead with the July 3rd date that is displayed on the handset, at least until we hear more.

Meanwhile, the days of rugged phones with low specs and ugly designs appear to be over. After all, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will offer top-shelf specs and will be both water and dust resistant. And while the Casio Commando 4G LTE might not be the looker that the Samsung device is, it will also offer 4G LTE connectivity. If you're a butterfingers type, you don't have to settle for a crappy phone any more.
