OxygenOS Open Beta 3 now available for OnePlus 6
A new update is now available for the OnePlus 6. OxygenOS Open Beta 3 adds several new features, including a shortcut that allows users to quickly summon Google Assistant by pressing on the power button for half a second. After installing the update, users will be able to turn on this shortcut by going to Settings > Buttons & gestures and toggling on the Quick activate the assistant app.

The update also fixes an issue with the stability of the ambient display, and the stability of face unlock and the fingerprint scanner. Since this is a beta version of the update, some applications might not function as you would expect them to. For example, Google Pay is not working with this update.

Those who have already flashed an Open Beta update and are running the last Open Beta build will receive the new update via an OTA update. If you are new to flashing files or ROMs on your phone, you need to carefully read the instructions and directions at http://downloads.oneplus.com/.

Keep in mind that in making the change from a stable build to a beta version of the OS, will have to completely wipe all of the data on your OnePlus 6, which means that you are going to want to back up all of your data before starting. And once you do start using the Open Beta version of OxygenOS, you will only receive OTA updates with the OpenBeta builds. To start receiving OTA updates containing stable builds again, you will have to wipe all data and cache, and flash the last stable build.
