Outlook RT shown off ahead of Windows 8.1 preview release
It has taken a lot longer than most would like, but Outlook RT is on the way with Windows 8.1. The update won't be released until later this year, but the preview is due out in a couple weeks, and today we're getting our first look at Outlook RT courtesy of Microsoft superfan Paul Thurrott. Although, the images aren't exactly the most interesting since the app looks basically identical to Outlook 2013.

Outlook RT is expected to be released when the Windows 8.1 Milestone Preview is dropped on June 26th, and the early shots make it look like there is nothing special to expect. But, Thurrott also mentions that the installer that he got for Outlook RT includes all of the Windows RT-based Office applications - Publisher, Access, InfoPath, and SkyDrive Pro. Those other apps aren't planned to launch with Outlook, but are obviously planned for later down the road.
