OnePlus Asphalt Cup will see gamers compete for a OnePlus 6
After a successful OnePlus 6 launch in India last month, the increasingly-popular brand is back, this time in partnership with publisher Gameloft, in order to create the OnePlus Asphalt Cup for the Indian market.

The competition, which kicks off in just two days’ time on June 13 and ends July 8, will see players compete against each other by playing the Asphalt 8: Airborne game, with the top gamers who participate then receiving certain prizes. Specifically, the overall winner will take home a cash prize of just over $13,350, while those in second and third place will receive roughly $7,400 and $1,400 respectively. In addition to this, OnePlus will also be gifting the trio a new OnePlus 6 along with a pair of the popular Bullets Wireless Earphones. However, it doesn’t end there. In fact, the top 5 gamers during each week of the event will also go home with a free pair of the earphones, while the top 25 players will receive unspecified exclusives from both OnePlus and Gameloft. Also, as an added gesture, the two companies will be gifting every player nearly $300 worth of in-game content for each week of participation.

In light of the growing focus on mobile gaming in the smartphone industry, the move certainly appears to be a smart one and will guarantee the brand an increased level of consumer interest for at least the next four weeks, something that, considering the brand’s number one title when it comes to flagship smartphones in India, will only solidify its position.
