Nothing says love like a discounted Amazon tablet or e-reader
Because nothing says Love as much as a brand new forked Android tablet does, Amazon is putting some of its slates on sale for a limited time. If all it takes is an e-reader to get back in good graces with your significant other, Amazon is cutting the price on some of those devices as well. It all starts with a discount that is good for today only. The price of the 64GB Wi-Fi only Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is 38% cheaper at $299. The regular price for the device is $479. Once you hear the stroke of midnight, the deal goes bye-bye.

Other limited time offers include $40 off of the 16GB Wi-Fi only Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7, and $25 off of the 8GB Wi-Fi only Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7. The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 6 and the Kids Edition of the same slate have been discounted by $15 each to $84 and $134 respectively.

For those who like to curl up with a e-reader, Amazon's ad shows that the Wi-Fi only Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is being discounted $20 off the everyday price. If you agree to view ads on the lock screen, the device is $99 (regular price $119). Without ads, the price is $119 (regular price $139). If you want the 3G + Wi-Fi version of the Paperwhite, the version showing the 'Special Offers' is $169 (regular price $189). Without the 'Special Offers' you will pay $189 (regular price $209).

These discounts have a short shelf-life so you might want to dig deep into your pockets without delay. Valentine's Day is this coming Saturday.
