New Galaxy Watch Update Improves Swim Tracking
Samsung's first effort at brand consolidation for its phones and wearables, the Galaxy Watch, made its debut in the United States at the tail end of 2018, and not only can you now buy it for less than $300 but it has also received numerous major updates making it better with time, including the arrival of One UI.

With the Galaxy S10 family, Samsung added the Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Buds to the unified branding effort, and we are waiting on the Active 2 to launch together with the Note 10 soon for a second generation of that push. The first Galaxy branded smartwatch is still a pretty powerful device with its Exynos 9110 processor and a version that offers LTE connectivity. 

After the big One UI update to the watch that added tons of new features, Samsung is now issuing a smaller, R810XXU1CSG4 firmware that is 15.36MB in size but brings good news for the folks who use it for swim tracking. 

The One UI update added outdoor swim to tracking but the new update is now improving on the feature, and adds stability enhancements as well. Last but not least, it disables the dreaded alarm syncing with your phone that was done automatically, startling you with sounds from both devices.
