Motorola revisits Android 2.1 upgrade timeline, DEVOUR upgrade not yet decided on
Just yesterday we reported that Motorola had decided to upgrade the BACKFLIP to Android 2.1 sometime in the 3rd quarter of this year. On that note, the manufacturer actually released a new timeline that gives approximate dates for the 2.1 upgrade on its remaining Android models. Overseas, the MILESTONE in Europe and the Asia/Pacific markets is seeing the upgrade currently being rolled out in stages. In Canada, the MILESTONE will be upgraded sometime this quarter.

Back in the U.S., T-Mobile's Motorola CLIQ and CLIQ XT are both scheduled to get the Android 2.1 upgrade in the second quarter. As for Verizon's DEVOUR, Motorola says that the upgrade is under evaluation. The reason could be the different processor that is under the latter's hood, which is why that handset might be stuck with Android 1.6 for a little longer. The overseas version of the CLIQ, the DEXT, is under evaluation for the upgrade in Europe and Latin America, while in Asia there will be a 3rd quarter upgrade to Android 2.1. Of course, just a couple of weeks ago, the Motorola DROID finally received its upgrade after a number of false starts.
