Flagship Moto Z3 appears in official render, looks identical to Moto Z3 Play
After various renders have revealed Motorola’s next mid-range Moto Z offering, a new press image courtesy of AndroidHeadlines shows off the Chicago-based brand’s next-generation flagship, depicting a very familiar design. In fact, the smartphone appears to be identical in every way to the Moto Z3 Play on the outside.

Unlike many brands that opt to release budget alternatives with at least a few design changes, Motorola’s approach for its 2018 Moto Z3 line will include two smartphones that only differ on the inside. This means two offerings which boast tall 18:9 displays that have forced the company to move the fingerprint scanners to the side of the smartphone, creating a similar setup to Sony’s previous Xperia flagships. Also, a new glass build is present - this is adorned by the iconic Motorola camera module that once again makes a return, albeit with two sensors instead of the one.

Despite the various leaks surrounding the Moto Z3 Play, no information has appeared in regards to the regular Moto Z3’s internals. However, considering the smartphone will be competing in the flagship segment, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 is expected. Additionally, 6GB of RAM could potentially be included alongside 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Also, on a software note, near-stock Android 8.1 Oreo is expected to be included straight out of the box, with an updated to Android P hopefully arriving by the end of 2018.

Currently, the regular Moto Z3 Play is expected to make its appearance in just two days, on June 6. However, for those hoping to see the flagship Moto Z3 too, this isn’t likely to happen. After all, last year’s Moto Z2 Force flagship was released at a separate event in late July, meaning the Moto Z3 could easily follow the same launch timeline.
