Android 8.1 Oreo finally arrives for the Moto G4 Plus in the U.S.
It's been a long and bumpy road for the Moto G4 Plus, a smartphone that made it to market almost three years ago. Shipped with Android Marshmallow on board, the Moto G4 Plus was updated to Android 7.0 Nougat later on.

Surprisingly, Motorola didn't include the Moto G4 Plus on the list of phones eligible for Android 8 Oreo updates, although the smartphone should have qualified for the update. Back in September 2017, Motorola issued a statement that reiterated its support for the Moto G4 Plus and promised to offer owners an Android 8.0 Oreo update.

It took longer than anyone would have expected, but it looks like the Moto G4 Plus is finally getting that promised Android 8 Oreo update, at least in the United States. Spotted XDA Developers, the Moto G4 Plus' support page has been recently updated with the full list of changes included in Android 8.1 Oreo.

Of course, Android 8.1 Oreo will be the last major OS update that the Moto G4 Plus will receive, but that's quite understandable considering the smartphone was launched back in 2016.
