Microsoft posts a Windows 10 video review, detailing all new features
The CEO Satya Nadella, as well as the head of the Windows team Terry Myerson, alongside Xbox chief Phil Spencer took stage today for the truly breathtaking Windows 10 showcase, which was stuffed to the gills with milestone announcements.

What's more telling, though, is that Joe Belfiore, who is in charge of the phone, tablet, and PC integration of those, was centerstage as well, and now Microsoft has released a video of him detailing everything new and cool that will be arriving with Windows 10.

He talks about the free-of-charge nature of the new platform, the universal phone, tablet and laptop apps, basically everything that is coming, save for the cherry on the top - Windows Holographic and the crazy Microsoft HoloLens headgear, which definitely deserve a separate promo footage. Check it all out below.

Windows 10 - kudos for free update, a fine operating system, but nothing crazy or innovative about it that's why they're giving it for free WP 10 - absolute fail as expected, wow I can set a wallpaper, lol (still ugly and primitive), can't see the wallpaper because of big-ass tiles MS hologram - really nice and innovative thing, unfortunately it's going to cost an effin fortune, probably a few times more than your pc's worth

I think the video above does not show all the features. I wish they would go in more detail. Still, Windows 10 is a great step forward.

This none sense "MS Hologram" is nothing new on the market. Example :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rkOwhIxuhE We know it is just old tech ported on a glass just like Google Glass. Please do not mistake REAL holograms with this junk.

True, it has nothing to do with real holograms. Just a catchy name to bait people.

Nothing crazy or innovative? Universal apps, HoloLens api integration, Cortana integration, and seemless os from one device to all devices...yes nothing innovative here... Transparent tiles...he did not have them set, but its part of windows. Its not like when you have widgets...you have a full screen view either. -You missed the keyboard, you missed the new icons on the bottom of the menu screen, the universal apps for windows like calendar and full word email support (fullllllll woooooorrrrrdddddd). Settings, universal app again or so they said I believe, and looks much better. -not to mention how simply smooth it was, no chug, no lag, and this was using screen sharing...and the new action center, the new ability to reply sms without switching to any app, its a layer on top. The small demo showed that it is really good looking for me that is.

The only similarity is continuity. Where's Siri for OSX, advanced graphics sub-system (DX12), streaming from a gaming console, universal apps, the ability to run on other form factors? I won't even ask about the holographic bit, because that would just be futile.

Yeah, because I can buy an app on IOS and use it on my OSX desktop now. Oh wait, I can't. I guess you're dumb.

I have both PC and Mac.. To be honest, my Mac is way better.. That is when it comes to watching youtube and keeping the kids entertained.. When it's time for me to work or wind down with a good game, I power on my PC.

Every great OS always has its naysayer's. MS gave those who went to its userfeedbacks sites what they wanted and more. Windows 10 is greatness certainly ahead of the curve same way MS was when it first introduced Flat UI.

elitewolverine, I like what I seem so far, I think Windows 10 could very well bring Microsoft back into the dominating OS across all platforms unless Google and Apple has an Ace up their sleeves. If Microsoft could give incentive to encourage developer to jump on universal apps development they could make phone, tablet and PC experience seamless.

So much ground breaking innovation right there. Especially W10. Can't wait for this :)

Slightly modified ui of w8.1 + cortana = w10 in a nutshell. It's an ok evolution, but nothing crazy. That hologram thing and free update saved the presentstion from being a complete disaster.

its not just about that, it is literally a core change without breaking windows kernel for existing phones. The messenger app actually stated other voip developers can integrate right into the messaging app. Which for windows is great. The huge thing is universal apps, which current apps don't have to be rewritten for.

It sems that ms are enjoying their minuscule market share, so they didn't give much fcks about wp 10.

Right, because that is a problem that you are likely to face, somebody giving you a Windows Phone for free. Yeah, that's about as hard as me saying, "I wouldn't use a Ferrari if I were given one for free." Not like it's going to happen, so I might as well make the bold, useless proclamation.

To bad, I use both my new z3 and 930 side by side, still like my 930 better. My biggest thing that I miss, tiles, widgets are great, I love sony's widgets actually. But my screen cannot support 80+ widgets without dying. 930 says otherwise.
