Meizu is working on Android 5.0 Lollipop updates
While seemingly getting ready to announce a new smartphone (probably the MX4 Pro) on November 19, Meizu is also working on something for its current handsets - or at least for some of them. The company’s Head of Flyme (Meizu’s own UI) recently posted a screenshot suggesting that Android 5.0 Lollipop updates could be available soon to select Meizu devices. A post seen at Meizu’s official Facebook page earlier today suggests exactly the same thing.
While we don’t know what Meizu handsets will get Android 5.0 Lollipop, it’s probably safe to assume that the MX4 will be the first to be updated. Released in September with Android 4.4 KitKat on board, the MX4 is Meizu’s current flagship smartphone, featuring a 5.4-inch display with an odd 1152 x 1920 pixel resolution, 2 GB of RAM, and an octa-core MediaTek MT6595 processor.
Needless to say, Android 5.0 Lollipop on Meizu's handsets will look different than the stock version of the new OS. We hope it will look good anyway.
