MT6592 powered Huawei Glory 4/Honor 4 to be introduced next week?
A published report on Friday shows what appears to be an invitation from Chinese OEM Huawei for an event scheduled on December 16th. Considering that the word Honor is printed on the invite, the event would seem to be the introduction of the Huawei Honor 4, known as the Huawei Glory 4 in some markets. What makes this important and newsworthy is that the device is powered by MediaTek's true octa-core MT65492 processor.

Unlike the octa-core Exynos 5 chip that Sammy produces, the MT6592 can have all eight cores active at one time. The Exynos chip uses the big.LITTLE architecture which enables a group of four cores to be used at one time.

The Huawei Honor 4 is supposedly coming to market with a 5.5 inch screen, but with a resolution of 720 x 1280. Unfortunately, there is no FHD here. The MT6592 processor will be clocked at 1.7GHz. 2GB of RAM is on board with 32GB of native storage. The cameras on back and in front weigh in at 13MP and 5MP respectively and Android 4.2.2 is pre-installed.

Hopefully on the 16th, we will learn other important details such as pricing and availability.
